What Will a Toastmaster Do?

The role of the Toastmaster is more than simply acting as master of ceremonies and adding a 'touch of class' to your event.

He will take away all organisational and communications concerns from the host(s) during the event.

He can be viewed as an event manager, liaising between client, host, banqueting manager and other venue staff, photographer, speakers and guests to ensure that a function runs smoothly and, importantly, on time.

He will greet arrivals, call guests to dinner, organise a receiving line, announce bride and groom or top table guests into the room, introduce speakers and make announcements, introduce a cake-cutting ceremony or presentation, organise a raffle or fund-raising game, removing all those concerns from the host.

A Toastmaster can also advise on protocol and tradition, as well as reasonable timescales to allow for the different elements of most functions.
